1. Logs (raw wood)
Wood is by far the most commonly used laser processing material, it is easy to engrave and cut. Light-colored wood like birch, cherry or maple can be well vaporized by the laser, making it more suitable for carving. Each type of wood has its own characteristics, some dense, such as hardwood, engraving or cutting, we must use more laser power. We suggest that before carving less familiar wood, we must first study the engraving characteristics.
Sometimes customers may ask you to carve plywood, in fact, it is not much different from carving on wood, but it should be noted that the engraving depth can not be too deep. The opposite edge of the glued cut will also be black as wood, the key is to see which plywood is made of which wood.
3. Wood cutting
Laser engraving machine cutting wood depth is generally not deep, within 5mm, this is because the laser power is small, such as slowing down the speed of cutting will cause the burning of wood. Specific operations can try to use large size lenses, and the use of repeated cutting method.
Wood carving will generally have a burning sensation, match with the wood floor has an original artistic beauty, the color depth depends on the laser power and engraving speed. But some wood is usually the softer kind of texture, no matter how you can not change its color (such as: birch). Sometimes customers may ask you to finish the product, you can use acrylic paint.
